Sunset State Beach Camping
At one time camping was allowed along the lower sand dunes next to the beach where picnic tables are found today. The campgrounds were moved up onto the bluff to protect the fragile beach environment and to provide many more sites for the public.
Sunset Beach has 90 campsites in total. Sixty-five sites are available for tents, trailers, and RVs. Nine sites are for RVs or trailers only, and 11 are tents-only sites. Every campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, grills and food storage locker. A maximum of 8 people are allowed at each site. Check-in time is 2 PM while check-out is at noon.
Campground Layout and Facilities
The campsites are separated into 3 groups: Dunes Camp, Pine Hollow Camp, and South Camp. Each camping group has a restroom with pay showers. A campground host is available has firewood for sale. Overflow parking areas are provided. An amphitheater is located adjacent to the Pine Hollow Camp. A Hike-Bike Camp is available along with a group camp.
